More Than Amigos
this weekend he gave me the heads up on his mom staying over on saturday. after a night of watching girls strip he didn't think that he'd be comfortable with me sleeping next to him and his mom in the next room. understood. however, if his mom is the kind that would go to see a burlesque show then she probably wouldn't be all that shocked by our living in sin. i didn't bring up this point of reasoning to the boy.
saturday night after the show we went to the boy's to watch human highway. it's a movie directed and written by neil young with devo. i mentioned to the boy that i could drive his car home and then return in the morning for breakfast with him, his mom, his brother, his brother's roomie and their friend. the boy turned down this idea and mentioned that i could probably just stay over night...
wait a second! this is the same guy who felt awkward about me meeting his mother? now i'm going to sleep in a single bed with him with her in the next room? i hate to think that this is progress but it very well could be. also that afternoon we took his mom to see beyond the valley of the dolls...
this movie is not a sequel to the patty duke pharmaceutical pseudo-drama penned by jacqueline susann. this is a whole new creation filled with every beat age cliche. drugs, drinking, lesbians, men with breasts, more drugs, porn stars, man whores... and since it was made by russ meyers it is full of naked big breasted women.
then we went for dinner with his mom and told stories over too much wine. if he didnt' want his mom to get the impression that we're just having fun and it's not really a relationship he could have made me am-scray this weekend... but he didn't. he let me play three amigos with him and his mom.
[i highly recommend viewing beyond the valley of the dolls. everything is overdone to the point of humor. it's an afterschool special crossed with laugh in and a blacksploitation movie.]
